FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How far in advance should I order my gown?
- Because all of our designer wedding dresses are made to order, on average they can take anywhere from 6-8 months to produce. Including shipping and alterations we suggest ordering your dress 9-12 months prior to your wedding date. There are rush options for weddings that will take place in less than 6 months, but rush fees may apply.
How should I prepare for my appointment and what should I bring?
-Enjoy browsing through magazines and websites so you have a general idea of what you prefer in a wedding dress. You can even show us your Pinterest page! Your bridal consultant is then happy to give you recommendations that you will love. Bring any undergarments you could see yourself wearing on your wedding day such as a strapless bra and spanx! Also bring heels of a height that you think you will wear on your wedding day so you can get the complete look while you are here. Depending on the designer custom length options are available and knowing your shoe height will determine if you are eligible. Finally, we recommend you do all the usual beauty prep like your hair and make up so you feel good when trying on the dresses and will give you a better idea of how you will look on the big day!
Is it crazy to "SAY YES TO THE DRESS" on my first shopping trip?
-Believe it or many brides say YES the first time! As long as you LOVE your dress take advantage of the wonderful moment when you fall in love with it.
Do you carry plus size dresses?
-Absolutely! We carry plus size wedding dresses as well as bridesmaid dresses. All of the dresses in our shop can be ordered in plus size.
Do you carry Mother of the Bride/Groom dresses?
-Unfortunately, we no longer carry MOB/MOG dresses. Many of our bride's moms have had success shopping at department stores such as Lord and Taylor, Macy's, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.
What is our price range?
-Our dresses start at about $1,200 and can go up to $3,000. We only require 50% payment to order your dress, and the balance is due at the time of the dresses arrival to our shop.
Do you have a sample sale?
-Yes, we do! We keep our gowns in great condition and buying a dress off the rack is a great way to purchase a dress at up to 50% off! Also, if your wedding day is around the corner, it will ensure that your dress will be in on time. Our seamstresses can help repair the gown if needed and cleaning options are available.
Will I need alterations and do you recommend a seamstress to use?
-As soon as your dress arrives we ask you to come in within 10 days for your first try on. We will order the dress as close to your current size as possible, but all bridal gowns need alterations in order to fit you perfectly. We have in-house alterations but you are not required to use our services. We recommend you allow about 2-3 months for alterations.
What is the average cost of alterations?
-When using our master seamstresses they assess each bride in their gown for the special adjustments they may need. The basic alteration charge begins at $350 which includes pressing, packaging and personal appointments with the seamstress. Free consultations are available to provide a more accurate pricing range.
When should I order my bridesmaid dresses?
-We recommend you order your bridesmaid dresses about 8 months before your wedding date as they take about 4-6 months for delivery. This allows ample time for your maids to receive their gowns and time for any necessary alterations. Discounts are made for our brides and large group bridal parties.
Who do I bring to my bridal shopping appointment?
-We recommend no more than 4 people to attend your appointment. We feel that the opinions of a trusted few make the decision easier and less stressful for you.
Are children allowed to come to my bridal appointment?
-Because of the delicate nature of the dresses we ask that children under 10 not come to the appointment. We recommend that you bring them to the final fitting if it is important for you to include them during this experience.
Are food and drinks permitted?
-We want to keep our shop as tidy as possible so the gowns stay in the best condition for you to try on or buy so we ask that only bottle water be permitted into the shop. We do celebrate with a champagne toast when you say "YES TO THE DRESS!".
Do I need to schedule an appointment?
-Yes, we are a by appointment only bridal boutique. We like to give each bride our undivided attention and have found that 1.5 hours is typically the perfect amount of time to review our showroom floor and try on the dresses fit for you!
What is a trunk show?
-We carry an edited selection of each designer’s collection so trunk shows are a designated time that we have an extended selection of a particular designer. Trunk shows last for only a few days, and appointments fill up quickly, so we recommend you book early if one of your favorite designers will be visiting so you can shop the entire collection. Discounts or promotions offered during the trunk will only apply during the trunk show dates. Check out our Events page to see our upcoming Trunk Shows!
